Advantage
West Midlands is the
Regional Development Agency for the UK's industrial,
commercial and agricultural heartland.
It is one of
eight English Regional Development Agencies (RDA's)
that were established by the UK Government in April
1999. A ninth, the London Development Agency, was established
in July 2000. As the development agency for the region,
Advantage West Midlands is charged with developing a
regional economic strategy and then ensuring its implementation.
AWM is one of the partners of the
ERDF funded project The Media Vault, a project that
will provide the West Midlands Creative Industries sector,
in particular, screen based media companies with:
a new media management
technology infrastructure known as a Digital Asset
Management (DAM) platform
improved SME access
to broadband connectivity
a networked media
acquisition and production facility
specialist connectivity
and technology advice.
